Built spiral stair and shelving: original installation photograph

A staircase and bookcase conceived together for the Nozza Progetti office in Bergamo.

Biblioscala brings circulation and storage into one compact architectural element. The stair passes through a bookcase, turning a practical requirement into a spatial centre for the office.

A stair and a library share the same compact footprint. Open shelves surround the spiral, allowing storage and movement to form a single element within the office. The installed photograph shows the result; the design view and elevation explain how the circulation, shelving and technical drawing were brought together.

Form follows music.
As you move through the space, corridor becomes feminine, you become the masculine.
Invisible light is hidden in d-archness that ego does not seek.
